Betty, a small size, not the average size, and some may even say pocket size, pitbull mix has been a resident of the Mt. Vernon Animal Shelter for over 2 years. Betty awaits her 4ever home patiently every day spending over 20 uneventful hours in her kennel. Heartbreaking, we know. With much devotion from volunteers, Betty has become a shelter favorite among the volunteers. They even created a Facebook page for Betty called Betty Needs a Home. She's adorable, spunky and just the perfect size for an apartment or a house. A closed in back yard would be deal for Betty's energetic silly romps and curious excursions. This girl has energy to burn and places to explore! Betty would do best in a single pet home and prefers to receive all her human's attention rather than sharing. Yep, you are all hers. (no cat or dogs) Although, we recommend a single pet home, Betty is ok with sharing the adventures of the outside world has to offer with her fellow canine buddies as long as her space is respected. Betty would also be a ton of fun with a family with teenagers as she would welcome the fun energy and merry family on goings.
Let the games begin! On your mark, get set, gooooooooooo! Toss a ball, swing a rope toy, fill up the kiddie pool, Betty is down for anything. She's an all time FUN girl. In spite of her long 2 years at the shelter, Betty hangs on tight to her lively spirit, her lust for life and her hope. After an exciting day of fun, Betty loves to chill and relax with her favorite people. Although energetic and bouncy, Betty is easy going and can be caught taking a nap in a cozy spot on a lazy afternoon. Betty knows basic commands such as Sit, Paw and Down, and we anticipate easy to house train as well. Betty aims to please and she demonstrates it in her training. An A+ student in our training program and she certainly loves her treats. (watch her videos on the Mt. Vernon Animal Shelter Facebook page) Her grayish marble like color, soft to the touch coat and sassy green-brown eyes are beautiful, obviously noticeable and unforgettable, one look at this cute, petite, spunky girl, and you're hooked! She'll win you over in a heart beat. Oh by the way, did we mention Betty loves to give kisses? Yep, another loveable and adorable trait among the many she has.
