MEET MAGGIE. Magnificent Maggie! What a looker! This 3 year old black and tan spayed female has not had the easiest of lives, but things are now looking up. She has been in a new home for awhile after being rescued from a shelter, but she is just one dog too many for the family. Maggie tends to be a little bossy with other dogs, because she has had to push in a little to get attention in her earlier life. But she will be wonderful with the right family situation. First of all, Maggie is a stay at home girl. Well, that is, she loves to go for walks, but she would like her traveling days to be rare indeed. She gets ill on car rides, and that is no fun for anyone. So do you have a nice yard you would like to share with Maggie? She knows how to use a doggie door. Want to meet this pretty girl?
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
