My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stanley spent his five years of life in a puppy mill facility and so we do not have much of his history. What we do know is that he is a gentle, sweet boy who looks for love and attention from everyone he meets. What you give to him, he will give you back three-fold! When he is asked to come up onto your lap, he will stand on your legs, lean in to you, and quietly rest his head on your shoulder while you wrap your arms around him. Every day Stanley has become more confident and outgoing through his daily neighborhood walks meeting people and other dogs. Leash walking is exciting and fun for him, and the exercise and socialization is very important for a dog that has led such a sheltered and neglected life up to this point. House-training has really improved after his neuter, and a good routine with walking to become aware of what other dogs are asked to do outside will soon make Stanley 100% reliable. His hair has grown out from the buzz haircut he got when the puppy mill was closed, and his coloring is showing up as various shades of gold and black. Stan has not learned to play with toys yet, but he does get excited to see you return home and often runs the Shih Tzu 500 throughout the house to demonstrate how happy he is. He will also want to sleep with his owner at night: He will wait by the bed to be asked to jump up, then lays next to you with his head or his paw on your leg. If you feel you can offer Stanley a special home full of love and attention the rest of his life, please apply today! Stanley's adoption fee is $270.00 plus MN sales tax. His foster mom would like to adopt Stanley within 50 miles of Minneapolis, and would like his adopters to attend our Rescue Reunion each year in June.

Before contacting Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota regarding any dog, please thoroughly read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to help you understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption.
