Tank's Story...
Do you remember the day you got your first bed??? No, neither do I. I've always had a bed. Tank had been less fortunate than most. We assume he lived his first 5 years on the streets of South Central. His daily routine was looking for scraps, drinking out of the gutter, getting stuff thrown at him to scare him away, you get the picture. Our fellow LAAR volunteer had watched him come around and each time he broke her heart. Finally one day she couldn't take it anymore, his skin was a mess, he had no spark in his eyes, he was defeated. She got him to the vet, many people pledged and helped get him medical care. He was dehydrated, covered in fleas & ticks, open gash on his cheek and a bad case of mange. He's with laar.org now and this is a photo of him on his first ever dog bed. HE LOVES HIS BED! He takes his toys to it, he practically skips back to his bed after his walks, he is having the time of his life at the ranch and he gets along with everyone! That dead look in his eyes is fading away. I'm starting to see color and life in his eyes. Such a transformation! He's fine with us until the perfect home comes around, we are happy to have him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tank, a Los Angeles American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
