Peyton's Story...
Hi! My name is Peyton. I am a fun loving, energetic year and a half old puppy. I am very cuddly and love to please. I am pretty smart, I already know how to sit and lie down pretty good. I am potty trained too! I am a friend to everyone and am very sociable. My foster family has a boxer mix and a chihuahua and I get along with them great. They also have two cats so I am used to them as well. I am a great family dog, my foster family has two little girls. The oldest likes to lead me around like a horse, the youngest just likes to climb on me! I love little kids and we play great together. I really want a home of my own one day. I am learning how to be a good girl and will make a family so happy one day. All I need is for you to come visit me. I guarantee you will fall in love with me!

Peyton's adoption fee is $175; she’s up to date with routine shots, micro-chipped and altered and has tested negative for heartworms.
Some of our dogs are in foster homes; please call the shelter, 618-282-7387, to check on their location.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peyton, a Columbia Australian Cattle Dog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Collie for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Collie dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Collie breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
