found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
River is an active, energetic girl and while she does have lake access, her yard is small. As a result she frequently endures the temporary pain of her shock collar to run past the underground fence to go exploring. And this is where the problem lies. Although she is gentle and sweet and plays nicely with neighborhood dogs and children, River has been known to get into mischief on her neighborhood rounds. Once, she became fascinated with a neighbor's sprinkler system and in her exuberant curiosity, chewed the heads of the sprinklers. She's been known to help her self to shoes and other things left on porches as well.
After two years of trying to curb River's wanderlust, the family is left with two choices. They can keep her confined when they cannot supervise her or they can let her go to a new home. The thought of keeping her confined during the day, and not allowing her access to swim and play for hours on end, is just too heartbreaking for them. When they have tried to do it, River has been miserable. So, as a family, they have come to this difficult decision to find River a home where she can hopefully have more room to run without leaving her own property and causing neighborhood discord.
River is fully housetrained, leash trained, crate trained. She is excellent with children, allowing them to crawl all over her (please never leave any dog alone with a child!) while she watches out for snakes and other dangerous things.
River is the perfect family dog. She needs a home with a big yard and to be completely happy, she needs somewhere to swim. In return she will love you with her whole heart and she will tree your snakes to keep them away from your children.
