Here is what her foster family had to say:
Rosie is a loyal, loving, affectionate and very intelligent girl. She is good natured, willing to please and eager to do whatever you ask of her. It wouldn't appear that she has had any formal training prior to coming into our care but she is learning quickly and is always trying to do her best. We are sure that if someone will just give her the time to learn, she will pick things up quickly and make a wonderful family companion.
Even though it appeared she had never been in a home before, we have never felt the need to crate her. She is fully house trained and knows to do her business outside. She has been very patient with our dogs especially our puppy and has worked hard to understand what we want of her and do her best to comply. She is learning all the rules in the home and is working well with us to learn how to walk nicely on a leash and to share all the attention.
Rosie absolutely loves people! She is not shy with anyone and loves making new friends. She loves attention and pets and really loves to have her tummy rubbed. She can be a little bossy with some dogs but overall is friendly and is really great with our puppy. She has never acted aggressively with anyone or anything.
Rosie is quiet in the home unless there is a good reason to bark. She appears to be very well adjusted and socialized well but was never really part of a family before. We wouldn't trust her at this point with food on the counter and other such things but she is learning quickly what is expected and doing her best to be good about everything. She is a little shy of very loud noises and is sometimes a little anxious going through doors but she is learning and overall she is pretty happy-go-lucky. There are no issues with us leaving the house and we do leave her on her own without crating when we go out. Rosie's favourite things are running at the dog park, playing tug o war and having her belly rubbed.
She appears to shed very little but will need someone that is up for a couple walks each day or a good walk and a backyard to play in. She would love to be the only dog but would be fine with another dog in the home. As mentioned previously, she can sometimes be a bully to other dogs and tries to get all the attention for herself. She just needs to learn that there is enough to go around for everyone.
She is very smart and has lots of energy so we think she is younger than first thought. She is an attention hog so she might be happier being the only dog but another would not bother her either. She is very sweet and patient with our puppy and really wants to please.
If you think Rosie would be a good addition to your family, please submit an application for consideration.
