My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! I’m Lilly, and am pleased to meet you all! My friends at NBS animal rescue said I might be able to meet new friends, and maybe even find a family on Facebook – so here I am! I'm a very social gal so I'm thinking this Social Networking thing to find a family to love might just be the perfect way to find my fur-ever family!

As you can see from my pictures, I’ve been through quite a bit recently. I'm a dainty little gal weighing only 6 lbs, and I was surrendered to NBSAR with two broken bones in my leg. I'm still just a wee pup at 5 months old...so this was a really scary time for me - I was super duper lucky that the awesome volunteers at NBSAR were there to help me! It was realllly painful, and I was so shy and unsure of what might happen to me. Luckily, my new friends here helped me out, and took me to a nice veterinarian right after they picked me up to verify and treat the damage done to my little leg and help me feel better.

Thankfully, the doggy doctor was able to save my leg by putting a plate and 5 screws in my leg – and a cast on me that is just about as big as I am! It is a good thing though, because I sure feel a whole lot better. In fact, my friends in rescue giggle that I’m such a silly puppy – I still wanna play, fetch little toys and fiercely wrestle stuffed animals. They keep lovingly saying, “Slow down!” – and I listen…sometimes…heehee. I get my cast off and my stitches out very soon and the doggy doctor says that I'll make a full recovery and be good as new in just a few weeks. I already feel so much better!!

Oh, and I’m also doing pretty good at the potty training bit too! When I’m not busy trying to be a busy body, I LOVE a good snuggle. Being in a warm lap, with ear scratches and belly rubs is absolute paradise. If you've got affection to give, I've got some kisses and cuddles to share right back 'atcha!

Since I’m still recovering, I can’t quite go home to a new family – but my NBS friends said I can start looking for one now, as I’m a special girl, looking for a home that understands my past and can provide me a safe place to recover and play (a home with kids 8+ is best). My heart is big and bold, but my body isn't as tough. I’d like a home that will love me for the fearless little princess I am. I promise, if you could just see my little tail nubb wiggle, you’d find my personality irresistible! If you or someone you know is looking for big love in a tiny package, please consider sharing my photo and filling out an adoption application at www.nbsanimalrescue.com

Oh – and I almost forgot! If you wanted to help me out even more, Jaime at NBS just launched a sponsorship program! Isn't that great? Those who love dogs like me, but can’t adopt me can help me and other homeless pets in need by choosing to sponsor and help provide food, care and medical coverage to us. Pretty neat, huh?

Well, I have to go – there is a stuffed animal in the other room that I might go cuddle, or wrestle with...hmm maybe both! Well, I hope everybody has a great day! Thanks for caring, sharing, and sponsoring us rescue dogs!

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
