My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Bones! She is a gorgeous 4 year old fawn and white bulldog, who currently weighs about 44 pounds. Bones was surrendered to us due to lack of time. She is a very affectionate girl with lots of love to give. Bones loves to snuggle! This little girl is very loving, and is happy to cuddle in front of the TV or play and give high five!

Bones was born with a congenital defect where her hip sockets never formed. Back in February, she underwent surgery for a femoral head ostectomy (FHO). This surgery was performed to help correct Bones’ hip defect, and should significantly increase her mobility and quality of life. She will benefit greatly from continued joint supplements through the years. Bones is doing very well with recuperating, and is ahead of schedule with her recovery time! She shows wonderful mobility around the house and in the yard. Bones’ access to the sofa and bed are restricted at this time, and she must use a gymnastic wedge or be aided up and down. This must continue until her full recovery time is complete.

Bones is a very polite and well behaved girl! She gets along well with other dogs – she has 4 small fur siblings in her foster home. She does well with children, however she should only go to a home with children 8 years old and up due to her continued surgery recovery.

Due to food allergies, Bones needs to be on a grain free diet. She likes to snack on ice cubes, blueberries, yogurt, and the occasional piece of cheese. During her meal times, she is typically separated from the other dogs.

Bones is still working on her potty training (she had a difficult time with this due to her hip issues), so she will need someone who is patient and can continue to work on this with her. If the weather is poor (storming or extremely cold), Bones prefers to use a pee pad.

Please consider opening up your heart and giving Bones her loving furever home!

Adoption donation for Bones is $450.
