Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In Voltaire’s Candide Dr. Pangloss asked, "all is for the best in the best of all possible worlds." Well, we’d argue that Timmy is the BEST of all possible worlds! He’s a mish mash of the best of pup parts possible, even though they don’t exactly match. Is he dachshund? What about basset hound? Maybe corgi? And where is the beagle? No matter what this beagle mix is, he is a sweet, loving pup who is looking for his forever home.
Timmy comes to us from Ohio and arrived with a nasty cut on his chin. While the injury looks painful, it is fully healed and it hasn’t affected his disposition and he appears to have no fear of people. On the contrary, he seems to enjoy snuggling up, giving kisses, and hanging out in any available lap. His small size (15 lbs.) makes him ideal for picking up and hugging and his sweet face and short legs make him a child magnet. He loves long walks and plays well with other dogs - just try not to laugh when he tries to run with his short basset legs. Although slight in stature, he has a strong prey drive with a high- pitched bark and is ready to take on any squirrel or rabbit in the neighborhood. Timmy has not yet learned that his persistent bark warns all prey that he is hunting them. He is not 100% potty trained, but will easily sleep through the night without accidents.
Timmy is on the tiny size and since we aren’t sure who his parents are, it’s difficult to know how big he’ll get. Since he’s still a baby, he’s difficult to measure, but he’s between 10 and 12 inches tall. When measuring him from nose to tail, he’s about 30 inches long (we did mention the possible dachshund). We suspect he’ll stay small, though if he ever grows into his basset paws, he will be about 6 feet tall. He is currently being fostered with a female beagle puppy who is twice his size and he loves to play with her. He would do well with another dog for companionship.
