My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammy 7 to 8 yr old male white mitted brown and black tabby and
Sebastian: 7 yr old male white mitted tabby and white
Bonded Norwegian Forest Cats fostered in Santa Cruz

Sammy's family bought him and his "brother" Sebastian as kittens. Almost eight years later they purchased a dog. When harmony did not rein in the home, these two amazing kitties ended up at high risk in a shelter. No, this was not fair at all. And who would ever give up such a fabulous pair of boys anyway??? ( for a mere dog) It is hard to understand these things.

i know being 7 -8 yrs old and Owner Surrendered in a shelter is not a good thing. They could have been put down the day they were taken in-- there is no 5 day waiting period for Owner Surrendered pets. It was summertime and at the height of kitten season which means shelters have a very hard time finding space for adults of all ages. I almost didn't have space for them either.

When I got them they were very stressed and frightened. Initially we called Sebastian "Turtle" since he spent most of his time under a quilt on the floor, for 6 weeks. Sammy was more outgoing but no where near the friendly cat he is now. Shelters are hard on cats. And maybe the new dog was hard on them too. Or the betrayal.

These two boys look very similar but there are a few clear differences. Sammy has the white on his nose and he is a couple pounds heavier. He came in at 18.5 pounds. Sebastian has no white on his nose, weighs a pound less and all four of his feet are polydactyl, which is to say they each have an extra toe.The shelter paperwork described his feet as " massive " Both boys have the same green eyes, brown and black, thick coat, white bibs, and four white mitted feet. They are sumptuous cats. These are classic Norwegian Forest Cats, a big warm purring armful..

This is a very healthy breed. The pragmatic Norwegians bred them to be sturdy, trouble free, weatherproof mousers, working cats.

So lets find a great home for them. They are easy cats with their big hearts and happy nature.. They love attention and food and entertainment and play and sleep. Ever wanted a big kitty the size of a dog?. Here is your chance.

These two do have to be adopted as a pair. They are a year apart in age but I expect they came from the same breeder. Sammy is Mr Man About Town, into everything, friendly from day one.
Once he knows you, Sebastian is even sweeter and more affectionate. These two are really wonderful. They will entertain and warm yours hearts every day. And your feet, too, if they need it.

So please no homes with dogs for them. Cats tare fine. I expect they would do well also with children over 4 feet tall and maybe even shorter. These are good natured and easy going, great family cats. ..

Some family will be so lucky to have this unusual pair.

Sammy just reminded me to tell you he is supposed to be a 20 pound cat. It is what he was bred to be. "No, I am not fat. I am a Norwegian Forest Cat!!!"

They eat wet and dry and are litterbox perfect.

Their foster mom is Harriet in santa Cruz.
