Hobbs's Story...
My name is Hobbs and do I have a story to tell you! I started life as an indoor / outdoor kitty and life wasn’t so bad until one day I was hit by a car. Well, I took myself home and my humans decided I was damaged and left me outside to fend for myself. They didn’t want me anymore since I had a broken pelvis and a bum leg. I wandered around the neighborhood for almost a year then one day a nice family spotted me and got me some help. They wished I could live with them; but, they already had a full house. They promised I would find a forever home. St. Francis stepped in and had my worthless leg amputated. I am so happy it is gone, I can get around so much better now. The nice doctor said I will be just fine. I am FIV positive; I hope that doesn’t scare you. Doc said I am healthy and with good care I will live a long life. I promise to be a good boy; I am so full of love. My foster family says I am Mr. Personality. I love to be petted and held, I just long to be loved. Do you think you might have room for me in your family?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hobbs, a Tampa American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Tampa, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
