Teddy's Story...
We received a call from a concerned woman in Queens regarding her neighbor, a woman who has basically given up on life. She's now receiving care and hopefully recovering, but she has someone relying on her that she can no longer care for - her dog Teddy. A volunteer visits him day and night to feed him and let him out. She also sits with him stroking him - looking into those worried, questioning eyes that asking what's to become of me and where is she? Teddy and the volunteer became friends in about 5 minutes. He's sandy colored with a white chest and black muzzle, very handsome guy, perfect size not to big or too small. He's truly a devoted companion and needs someone to reach out and save his life. He lived alone with his female owner for about 3 years, and we think he's about 4 or 5. Teddy is up to date on all shots and is neutered. Please, please look into your heart and help this poor guy out. If you believe you can give Teddy a forever, loving home, please contact Debra at 917-561-2813 or email Sandy at bobbicares2@aol.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teddy, a Freeport Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
