My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Salutations! My name is Oreo and I’m 2-3 years old, male, and about 50 pounds. My breed is in question. The rescue believes I have some Boston Terrier in me due to my personality traits and look of my face, and maybe I’m mixed with a bully breed of some sort. I was rescued from a high intake/high kill shelter in Eastern rural KY and now I’m ready to find my forever home!

Let me tell you, I am a super special guy! Not only I’m I a handsome chap, but you won’t find a more fun loving dog than me! I LOVE everyone and when folks meet me, they can’t help but stop and give me some pets! My personality makes me shine and no one can walk past me without smiling and wanting to give me some love and attention! I am a very adaptable dog that goes with the flow. I am playful, well-mannered, and very smart. I know some commands and will gladly go to my crate when told to ‘kennel up.’ I am currently in foster care with another dog and a cat and they are both great friends. I have spent time around children and like their company too! Though I’m 50 pounds, I think I’m a lap dog and LOVE LOVE LOVE to snuggle with my human on the couch!

I am house broken, and am leash trained though I am strong on leash. My foster parents are currently working with me more on leash with an easy walker harness. Some of my favorite hobbies are playing a game of fetch with my tennis ball, chewing on my nylabone and eating! I love to eat and will eat each meal as if it is my last! I am not destructive in any way, am not food aggressive, and am not possessive of my toys or treats. I’m happy to share – what’s mine is yours!

I am so very deserving of enjoying life with a loving family and finding that perfect forever home. To see additional photos of me, please see "Our Adoptable Dogs" album on TWHRA’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheWayHomeRescueAlliance .

I have been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and am current on heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. My adoption donation is $125, which will help defray the cost of my vetting. TWHRA is open to ‘foster to adopt’ arrangements, as well as out of state adoptions within a reasonable distance. Transport assistance is available. For more information on me or for an adoption application, please email sarahthewayhome@gmail.com . Thanks for your interest in a rescue dog like me!
