My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jacob is currently being fostered in Mentor Ohio and his adoption donation is $250

Jacob is a beautiful red and white 2-3 yr old male cocker spaniel.
His story began when he was found laying in a flowerbed of a womans backyard.
She had called Animal Control to come and pick up a possibly deceased dog that she had found lying there.
When animal control arrived, they realized he was alive, however was very ill.

Jacob had been attacked by another animal (possibly a coyote), and had an abcess on his neck where he had been bitten.
It did not look promising for him, the shelter vet said he was near death, and only time would tell.
We immediately took him to the nearest Emergencey animal clinic where he had surgery to have the abcess drained, and several tubes inserted, as well as IV antibiotics.

Jacob is a fighter, and he healed quickly from his wounds, he truly is an amazing cocker boy!!!
He has been in foster care for about a month now, and is doing so well.
Jacob is so laid back and loving, he has the nicest temperment, and is very docile, he gets along great with other dogs, and is housetrained.

Jacob is also very loyal, he is a typical velcro cocker that will follow his person from room to room, and does yelp/bark a bit when left alone we have noticed.
He has also been exposed to a young toddler several times in his foster home, and appeared to do very well around him.
He has also been around cats, and actually seemed hesitant with them, there was no chasing or aggression at all toward the cats.

Jacob has healed nicely from his original wounds, however he still may need a debrisding surgery to remove dead tissue, however we will have this done prior to his adoption if necessary.
If you are looking for a nice laid back cocker boy, and are interested in adopting Jacob, please fill out an adoption application.

Jacob is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

If you would like to adopt Jacob or would like more information on him, please fill out an adoption application.

We do not have a shelter, all rescues are in foster homes - Dogs are not shown without first being approved to adopt.
