Sonja's Story...
Sonja is a happy, energetic little girl who loves to play, snuggle and kiss! She has personality plus, and she isn't afraid of anything! She did get a home, but had to be returned for her own safety - she was jumping the family's short view fence and chasing off coyotes on the golf course! She was rescued from the Indian Reservation, and it is really hard to place her in a certain breed. She is 15 lbs, with a beautiful chocolate brown coat, and goofy ears that go in all different directions at times. Her body style and size reminds us of a Manchester terrier. Basically she looks like a little deer! Sonja is about 1 year old and she loves life! She would be a great walking/jogging/hiking buddy. She is good with other dogs and children, but she is a bit bossy. She loves to play rough, so she probably would be better with older children and young, playful dogs. Sonja is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. She is ready to be your best friend! Sonja's adoption fee is $150. Please contact Delon.Washo@asu.edu or 602-295-4518 to fill out an application and schedule an appointment to meet Sonja.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonja, a Phoenix Manchester Terrier/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Manchester Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Manchester Terrier/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Manchester Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Manchester Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
