Ben's Story...
Ben is a wonderful dog who came to us when he was found as a stray. He is always eager for attention and, like a typical goofy coonhound, has the voice to tell you so! We believe that Ben would do best in obedience school where he can learn some basic doggy manners. Because he's still a bit bouncy, he should go to a home with children who are 8 years old or older if you have any kids in your home. Typical to his breed, Ben's favorite thing is to see the world through his nose. When you take him out for a walk his nose is always on the ground taking in all the smells and loving every minute of it! Bogart loves cats a little too much, sadly, so needs to go to a home that is feline free. Coonhounds are some of the most loyal and loving breeds; why not spend some time with one today? Come check Ben out!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ben, a Ithaca Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
