My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We call him Bear. The vet said he was about 3yrs old. He is a German Shepard/Kangal mix and when he went to the vet back on Sept 25th he was 72lbs, I think that he is about 80lbs or more now. He wants to be with people and would probably prefer being inside as well as out, but we have had him outside only. He does tend to get excited and jump on people as well as mouthing which we have been working on correcting. He does know how to sit on command. I have made a point of making him sit and wait for release before getting food and he does well with that. There is no food aggression at all. He will bark at strangers, but then just wants to get to know them, we have had many people in the yard with him and he has shown no aggression at all, just wants to be with them and be loved. He does tend to pick up things and move them about (his food dish, the water hose, a broom), but has only chewed up a plastic bowl that had food in it. He does tend to pull on the leash if he wants to get somewhere, but my dad was able to walk him with an electric wheelchair with ease. The only dog he has been in physical contact with is my parents female lab (who is extremely hyper) and they just played. He does try to play through the fence with the Chihuahuas behind us. He doesn’t run, he gallops and he hops like a gazelle when playing. He will play fetch for a little while, but quickly gets board. Not sure how he is around cats, as our cats aren’t too thrilled about him. When he has seen them he shows brief interest and nothing more. Unfortunately at our house he spends most of his time in the backyard alone.
