Chihuahua Dog for adption in Charleston, West Virginia - Bear

Bear's Info...

I am purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Bear's Story...
Bear has had a rough past in his 8 years. He is a sweet dog once he gains your trust. But just needs someone who will take the time to get to know him and be patient with him. He has skin allergies and will need to be treated. Bear needs to be the only dog in the house to relief some stress.

Our Adoption Process...

Once you have chosen an animal to adopt, a shelter officer will give you an application to fill out, after which you and the shelter officer discuss the animal's prospective situation with an eye to the animal's safety and comfort.

Important topics might be how high your fencing is (containment) and how much time the animal would spend with you. We believe that animals should spend a good bit of time with you and your family.

If everyone agrees that your site and situation are suitable for the animal, you read and sign a document relating to the ethical treatment of animals.

If the animal is already spayed or neutered, it may go home with you immediately. If, however, the animal needs to be spayed or neutered, the staff makes an appointment with a participating veterinarian and the animal can go home as soon as it has had the operation.

Adoption fees are as follow:

Dogs are $76.00, which includes spaying or neutering, first set of shots, worming and rabies shot if the animal is old enough.

Cats or kittens are $61.00, which includes spaying or neutering, first set of shots, worming, and rabies shot if the animal is old enough.

Licenses - $3.00 for Kanawha County and $3.00 for City of Charleston, if applicable.
