My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kohana, which means "blossoming flower" in Japanese, is the 6 year old Red female Shiba that we pulled from the puppy mill auction at the beginning of September. Before coming into rescue she had never lived in a house, been petted, walked on a leash, felt grass, played with toys, or done anything that our own dogs do on a day to day basis as family companions.

Kohana is slowly starting to approach her foster mom. The other day she let her foster mom scratch her under the chin for the first time when she saw the other Shibas in the home getting petted so we definitely want another dog in the home so she follows their lead. She is also good with cats but no children, they are too scary for her.

She is also starting to run around and really enjoys exploring the yard with the two resident Shibas outside and after about a month of having her foster mom have to go out and catch her on a leash that Kohana would drag around the yard, Kohana is finally coming inside on her own.

Kohana is doing great with potty training but still working on just being quiet in her crate but is vastly improving. However she doesn't walk on a leash at all, she flattens out of fear so no apartments please.

Kohana's fee is $275.00 which includes her spay, dental, microchip, deworming, distemper and rabies vaccinations and a 6 week professional training course at an approved location local to the adopter.
