BARNEY's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.

BARNEY's Story...
Say hello to BARNEY. We're not exactly sure what he is but will have the results of his DNA test in a couple of weeks. We're thinking a little of this, a little of that, a smidgen of Saint, maybe some Jack Russell. Whatever he is, he's a delightful little boy who will bring lots of fun to an active adopter.

Barney is only 12 months old, still technically a puppy, and at around 45-50 pounds he's a small guy. But what he lacks in size (at least at this point) he makes up for in enthusiasm. He's neutered, housetrained, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. He's VERY smart and loves to cuddle (when you can get him to sit still, that is .)

This sweetie has SO much potential and would be a great match for someone who runs. He LOVES accompanying his human on daily runs. He's a high-energy fellow who enjoys flying like the wind, ears flapping in the breeze.

Barney's learning socialization skills and is starting to work on basic commands too. He will benefit from a formal obedience course not only to reinforce what he is beginning to learn but as a mechanism to bond with his humans.

It's great fun watching him romp in the yard. He's a playful young boy who will do well as an only dog or perhaps with another dog who can match his energy level. He's probably a bit too intense for cats.

The ideal family will have a traditional fenced yard so Barney can run and play and stretch out his muscles. Due to his energy level we'd like to see him with kids over age 12 or so.

Want to meet him?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BARNEY, a Sudbury St. Bernard puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Sudbury, or seeking a St. Bernard puppy from a breeder in Sudbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sudbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sudbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sudbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
