Elmo's Story...
Elmo is one of the sweetest dogs i ever met. He came to the shelter underweight, with skin issues due malnutrition and Food Allergies. Elmo will be on medication for quiet a while and his food should also be grain free!
Now that this huge sweetheart is starting to heal, he is looking for his forever home. He LOVES everything, people, children, other animals. He does need a little training, but he knows how to sit. This big cuddlebug deserves a second chance, a family that shows him love and how comfortable a home can be!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmo, a Fort Riley Golden Retriever/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Fort Riley, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Fort Riley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Riley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Riley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Riley paves the way for another one to be saved.
