Courtesy Posting - Saving Faith

Faith is a beautiful black Lab and Beagle mix who was found on October 24th in Nashville, Tennessee. Skippy Lou Lost Dog Team members learned about Faith late one night. After hearing that she had been severely injured, alone for three days, and trapped with no help, the team made the snap-judgment to go find her that night and get her out of there. It was quite the challenging rescue. She was injured, freezing, starving, and as alone as a pup could possibly be. Trapped behind a chain link fence in a culvert, wedged between a tall interstate barrier and a railroad overpass embankment, she was unable to move or escape. She was very weak and was in severe pain as her hip had been dislocated. When the team reached Faith she was curled up in a ball, fighting to keep her frail body warm against the cold wind, and would not move. Her eyes were small and sad. She had lost all hope. She could have very well died there alone - but she didn't!!! Faith was very afraid of her rescuers but in the end, when they finally got her to the car and opened the door, she crawled right in! Once she got settled in the seat, she was so relieved. She climbed up into a rescuer's lap and snored all the way to the emergency vet.

Faith is estimated to be about eight years old by the vet who treated her. When found, she was not spayed and looked like she may have had some litters of puppies in the past. She was very thin and weak and also had a large wound on her ear. Her back leg was hardly functional due to the dislocation of her hip. She is now in the care of a vet and is healing well. Faith is so thankful for everything that she gets, is eating well and loves the attention that she is getting from the staff. She will be spayed soon and her hip is being watched carefully to see if it stays back in position or if she'll need hip surgery. Yesterday, she gave her first tail wags! You can really see the light starting to come back into her eyes. :)

When Faith comes out of the hospital, she will need intake from a rescue organization and a quiet, gentle foster home or forever home. She's been through a lot. You can tell that she used to be someone's beloved pet as she loves to ride in the car and really loves to be talked to and praised. She's such a sweet girl who deserves a great new chance at life. Please help us find her a great rescue, foster home and/or forever home! She is a determined survivor who never gave up and waited for a miracle to save her.

The three photos of Faith are from the last couple of days. The full-body shot is the latest one. See her smile coming out? :) **Please contact earthakitsch@gmail.com if you can take this doll baby into your rescue or are interested in fostering or adopting sweet Faith.
