My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JUST ARRIVED: "JASPER" and "MOLLY" These two Poodles come to us from a situation in another state where there were just to many Poodles living with one person. While they were all well cared for and loved, it was best that the owner surrender some of the Poodles to us.

"JASPER" is a strong and sturdy, 80 pound, neutered, Parti Standard Poodle who was born 02/23/2006.

I have found this big boy to be very quiet, gentle, loving and easy going. He is not shy, but there is no mean bone in him, so you do need to have a "soft" heart and gentle tough. No rough handling or hard, strict expectations for this gentle soul.

He knows "sit", will come when called and thinks he is a lap dog! He loves to go for a car ride and will sit quietly while looking out the window. This is a "GENTLE GIANT"!

We do have all his past Vet records which show he has been well cared for by his Vet with shots, worming and heartworm testing all being routinely done.

Our Vet has found Jasper to be very good health, we saw that sometimes Jasper has a slight "gimp" in his right rear hip.

So we had 3 rear hip X-ray's done which shows that arthritis is setting in. While we discussed hip dysplasia, Jasper's hip is not bad.

With a glucosamine supplement (such as "Nutramax Dasuquin with MSM for Large Dogs"), a good quality diet and watching his weight, Jasper will be just fine.
These X-rays and a full report will be sent to your Vet when you adopt Jasper.

Jasper will need a quiet home with no other dogs OR with a soft, easy going or older dog. Pleases, NO small children.

I have not heard him bark yet, but have been told he will make a loud, raspy bark; that means he has been de-barked. (Please! Do not send me a lecture about the evils of de-barking a dog.)

Jasper's $450.00 adoption fee includes all his past Vet records, a recent Vet check, X-rays, teeth cleaned, shots are up to date, heartworm tested negative, worming, leash, collar, 25 pounds of dog food, and a good supply of "Nutramax Dasuquin with MSM".

Also a like new (only used once) GIANT size Vari-Kennel (thank you, Craigslist!), blankets and a dog bed.... FORGET THE DOG BED. He likes the couch!

If you have any questions or would like Jasper's "Application For Adoption", please e-mail me.

O.K. Jasper, get off the couch..... Please? Fine then. So, obviously, you will have to accept that Jasper will be on your furniture.
