Rusty's Story...
Hi! My name is Rusty. My foster mom calls me “Rusty Roo” or just “Roo” She thinks a little guy like me needs a short, little nick name – go figure. I was picked up as a stray by Pasadena Animal Control. I spent two months at the facility and let me tell you, that place is loud and scary no matter how street smart a dog is! I hear I had several applications but once they found out I had heart worms, they withdrew their applications. Another rescue was going to pull me, by now I’m getting pretty darn tired of this place, but the rescue’s applicant decided they wanted a female, huh? When they could have me? Luckily, a nice lady came by after seeing several posts on something called Facebook and realizing that my time there could be limited We visited for a while in the visitors room, been there a few times, and I was on my best behavior. I tried to hold back my coughing but those nasty heart worms took a toll on me and I coughed incessantly so the lady decided to foster me and took me out of there that day – yay! I went to her place where there was a nice golden retriever and a small sheltie/pom mix; both males. It took me a while to warm up to them but I’m perfectly fine with sharing our space (perhaps not bully sticks or busy bones!) After some injections and medicines, I’m feeling pretty darn good. My tail wags a lot and I love gathering my toys together. I love following my foster mom around. I could actually sit on her lap all day long if she would let me! At about 6 years old, I feel like a pup again. I’m not crazy about spending much time outdoors since I was on the road (literally) for a while. Inside comforts suit me just fine! If they all go out, I will now follow. My mom has to take me out on grass and wait for me to “do my business” because I get a little distracted and want to get back inside that comfy house! I love everybody! Big, little, boy, girl, young, old – everybody! I haven’t met any cats over there but think I would e ok with them since I’m just so happy to still be around and off the streets+

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a conroe Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in conroe, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in conroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in conroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a conroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in conroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
