My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Brave. I am six years old and weigh about 60 pounds. I surely could use a change in my circumstances, which I am hoping a new forever family is going to provide for me. I was surrendered along with my brother Hunter because my family was moving and could not take us with them. They sadly admitted that they had not had much time to spend with us in the last few years. I spent a lot of time tethered on a choke collar. I can’t begin to tell you how that broke my heart. I know “sit,” and “shake,” and am positively awesome at “drop” with a ball or toy. On my behavior evaluation I got straight A’s for being playful, outgoing and people centered. I do have a high energy level so I am better suited to a household with high school age, rather than very young children. Or—if you are a young single person looking for the perfect companion to turn heads on walks and at the dog park, the sky is the limit on the training and bonding we can accomplish together. I know you are out there, forever family, and I would dearly love your time and attention, and your patience, since human interaction has been somewhat lacking in my life. Hunter and I are not bonded, and I have a tendency to guard food when another dog is around so I’ll probably adjust best if I am in a single dog household. It’s been a bit of a rocky start for me, but I have high hopes that there’s a bright future ahead for a great looking Golden like me. Please be that human who has the time and talent to train and take care of me in the way that I need and deserve, and in return you will have my unconditional love and loyalty over a long life together.
