My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Friends! My name is Rachel and I'm very pleased to meet you!

I’m one of the new ladies at NBSAR and am very happy to be here. Everyone tell me that I am such a sweet and adorable little girl - I love soaking up all of the compliments...and treats that come with them! My Foster Dad says that once I'm comfortable in a new situation and with new people I am a little lover...and quite the model too! I had fun posing for my pretty pictures with the giant flower I wasn't allowed to nibble on and the beautiful hat that my Foster Mom found.

I’m a very good girl and one of four, 10 month old poodle/bichon mixes that were removed from a “hoarding house” by the doggy police. That was a pretty terrible place, as we didn't get the veterinary care, nutrition or attention that us puppies thrive on. Then I stayed at the Allegan shelter, and that was overwhelming too. Soon though, a wonderful person at NBS came to our rescue – and just knew me, and my siblings could make some lucky families the happiest people ever. At first – I was super-shy, and very unsure of what to think of all of the changes. Now that I'm in a really wonderful foster home, it's still taking me a bit to open up and trust new people and situations, but I'm blossoming more and more every day and my Foster Mom says that I am a super duper snuggly gal who loves to play with toys.

I would really like a home that is quiet and calm for the most part. Another dog to play with who was gentle and not pushy would be awesome! Because I am pretty shy in new situations and loud noises and fast movements scare me, I am looking for a home with kids 14+ I would love a home that had a fenced yard for me to romp and explore in, or someone who could take me for walks a few times a day. I LOVE being snuggled and having my belly rubbed - it's the best!

Even though I haven't met my family yet – I have met some wonderful people so far. You see, in the shelter, all four of us were really dirty, matted, flea-covered and kinda stinky… but thanks to the NBS supporters, we all had wonderful sponsors to help with our grooming! The NBSAR group made sure we all have had our shots, are Heartworm negative, are flea-tick-free, and are fixed! How great is that!?

Now that I’m looking good, I've got my hat, a wagging tail – and am out to find my fur-ever home. Do you or someone you know need a sweet, gentle, snuggly gal like me in their life? If you do – please share my information with your friends and family and ask them to visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application.

Thank-you for sharing my picture on your facebook page - I can't wait to meet my fur-ever family! <3

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
