Laverne's Story...
Laverne is a very friendly, affectionate, sweet and playful, five-month-old, female tortoiseshell kitten with gorgeous markings looking for a loving guardian. She loves to be held and is well-socialized with other cats and people. She loves to play and has a fun and loving disposition. Laverne can be adopted with either her sisters Candida and Raquel who are also sleek and beautiful tortoiseshell females, or with Tamsen, the only male, who is much bigger than his sisters and looks more like a fluffy Maine Coon cat. The mom of this litter was rescued in Humboldt Park, but the kittens were raised indoors where they developed a love for cats and people. They are healthy, de-wormed, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and virus tested. To meet and possibly adopt any of these kittens, please contact me directly at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. Their adoption fee of $75 each benefits rescued pets. They are being fostered in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laverne, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
