Chester's Story...
Hello! My name is Chester. I was rescued from a high kill shelter. When I arrived at S.T.A.R.T. II, my veterinary visit revealed I had a BB bullet lodged in my thigh. It was removed and I have been healing quite nicely! I love being around people.Sometimes I like to supervise volunteers when they're cleaning. I have to make sure they're doing a good job! Not only do I have looks, I've got lots of personality, too! I chat with volunteers frequently and enjoy snuggling next to them. If I'm not patrolling the shelter, I can be found looking out a window or playing with water in a sink. I'm looking for a forever home where I'll be showered with lots of love and affection!

Chester is current on his vaccinations, parasite-free, neutered, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you're interested in meeting Chester, please call Donna at (201) 873-7533 or email startkayne@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chester, a Elmwood Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elmwood Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elmwood Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elmwood Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elmwood Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elmwood Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
