Riley's Story...
Riley, Riley, Riley! What a gorgeous, 2 year old boy he is! He was found as a stray on the Oregon Coast over the 4th of July. Animal Control held him as long as possible, but nobody showed up or called and they were overflowing…so here he is with us! Riley is a smart, well mannered guy who really loves the outdoors. He would rather be in the yard than in the house. But beware! He is a very savvy beagle who is looking for an escape route to enjoy the wanderlust that calls in the great beyond. That’s probably how he got lost in the first place! A really good fence, all the way to the ground and not chain link, is a must for this one! He is sweet, great with dogs and cats. In fact, his foster mom has 6 cats and he could care less about them. Riley is a blank slate, ready to be trained and become a perfect little addition to your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Portland Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
