Sydney's Story...
Sydney came into New Hope as an abandoned, pregnant dog. She had her babies on Aug. 30 and was a great mom. Sydney is only around 1 year old, and she is a pretty small girl, weighing only around 33lbs. Her puppies are all finding their new homes, and now it's Sydney's turn to find a home of her own.

She is a young, playful girl who still acts like a big puppy. She is crate trained and house trained and doesn't pull much on leash. She is still learning that people are fun and not scary, but once you give her a good scratch behind the ears, she is your friend forever! Sydney is a sweet girl, and gets along very well with other dogs and loves to run around and play in the yard with her doggie friends.

Sydney is getting spayed on Oct. 24, and will be ready to find her new home anytime after that!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sydney, a Saskatoon Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Saskatoon, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Saskatoon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saskatoon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saskatoon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saskatoon paves the way for another one to be saved.
