Maxine's Story...
Meet Maxine! Maxine is the only survivor from the litter born from her momma, Ellie Mae. When Ellie Mae was rescued she was severely emaciated and we were uncertain if any of her puppies were going to be born alive. Maxine was born on 9/29/2013 and is believed to be a Lab/Plott Hound mix. She is a very healthy and happy puppy! At 4 weeks old she weighed 4.5lbs. It is unknown what breed her father was but her mother is a medium size dog. Maxine has beautiful brindle markings and very unique markings on her face. She is currently eating softened puppy food and is beginning to be weaned from her momma. Due to Maxine's hound mannerisms, we prefer to see her in a home with a fenced in yard. Maxine will be ready for adoption home in a couple of weeks and cannot find a family to love her furever!

Adoption Process: Please visit http://heavenlypawsmi.com/adoptions and fill out an Adoption Questionnaire.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxine, a Rochester Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound for sale in Rochester, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound puppy from a breeder in Rochester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester paves the way for another one to be saved.
