Roxy's Story...
Roxy is a friendly 5 year old shepherd mix that was surrendered to the shelter because her family was moving and couldn't take her with them. They said she was a good watch dog. Roxy has been a sweetie pie since her arrival. She doesn't seem to mind the other dogs around her. Roxy will thrive in a home where someone pays attention to her. She's a good dog that really hasn't had much of a life. Take a chance on Miss Roxy. You'll be so glad you did.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Elyria Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
