Dory's Story...
Dory and Darcy are a pair of older girls, but with age comes wisdome…and socialization! They are used to being a part of an active household with dogs and a baby. They are looking for a bit calmer atmosphere these days, but they are well adjusted and will warm up to a new environment very quickly. Like most female chins they can be a bit cranky if things aren’t on “their terms”…but as their terms usually only include giving them treats and petting them, these two will win you over VERY quickly!! Dory and Darcy are mellow and don’t have a build up of crazy nervous energy that most younger chinchillas come with. These girls would be ideal for a home with older, gentle kids looking to interact with chinchillas, or an adult who would like a pair of chins that will fit in to a multi-pet household. Just make sure the cage can have a quiet zone for privacy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dory, a Lindenhurst Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Lindenhurst, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Lindenhurst.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lindenhurst already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lindenhurst breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lindenhurst paves the way for another one to be saved.
