My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Knox is a very sweet, smart, and beautiful dog that has huge potential! She is young and has a lot of learning to do, but thankfully, she is smart!
She loves children and LOVES to play with other dogs, especially with my dog, Tucker, who is a 10 year old pit bull-boxer mix. The vet estimates Knox to be about a year to a year and a half old. She still has a lot of puppy in her, so she needs a lot of exercise —thank goodness she has Tucker and the kids to play with to help burn off energy! Knox is learning quickly that it’s ok to trust people. She can still be “spooky” at times, but mostly has faded away. Over this short amount of time, she has become more confident in herself, and is getting used to a household environment and rules.
Knox had never been a house until now so we’re still working on her house manners. She barked at the washer and dryer the first time she heard them run! My kids’ balloons, vacuum cleaners were all new to her, and she was also very intrigued by the TV! She is slowly getting used to the fire place, but will usually go to her crate when we build a fire.
She is not house trained yet, but is learning and is getting better! She sleeps in a crate, not happily at first, but after using positive reinforcement to make it a pleasant experience for her, it’s finally working! She will now go into her crate on her own when she’s tired.
Everyone who meets Knox falls in love with her gentle demeanor and her loving, beautiful, innocent face. Knox would do very well in a home with kids and other dogs. She loves activity, and attention! She does well on the leash and loves to go on walks, especially because it allows her to “sniff”! She’s a fast trotter and would be able to jog on the leash for about a mile or1.5 miles, but stops often for sniffs (we do this on a regular basis).

Note from Foster Mom:
Like I mentioned earlier, this dog has huge potential. She needs a home that will give her the love, nurturing, patience, and the attention that she needs. If you give her that, she will give you so much more in return! If you think you can offer Knox the furever home that she needs, contact Midwest BREW.
