Teresa's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Teresa's Story...
Teresa is a sweet young adult! independence is her main personality trait. She would prefer a home where she is the only pet to cater to. She doesn't have a high level of energy, however she does have spurts of playfulness. She often prefers a window seat where she can admire outdoor nature. Occasionally Theresa would prefer to just be left alone but will seek out attention when she desires it.

Cat/kitten adoption fee is generally $105.00+tax. Prices may vary for cats over 5 years of age or special needs/ Lonely Hearts (cats with us over 6 months). Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. We sell cardboard carriers for $5 each. Please either bring your own carrier in to take home your new family member, or plan to purchase one of ours. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teresa, a Brookings Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Brookings, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Brookings.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brookings already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brookings breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brookings paves the way for another one to be saved.
