Izzy's Story...
Izzy is a 6 year old female Chug who is an "owner surrender" rescued from the Austin Animal Center. She is heartworm negative, spayed, and is current her rabies vaccine. She is currently in foster care and is housebroken, kennel trained, and gets along great with other dogs. She is a little on the timid side but warms up quickly. She is easy to walk, loves treats, and always wants to be by your side. She is a very low-maintenance girl who will make a great companion. She is tiny at 6 lbs. and only shows love. She loves to hang out on the couch but will relinquish her spot if you tell her "off." She seems like she would be easy to train and is fine sleeping next to you or in her own bed. Her eyes are pleading with love and everything comments on how adorable and well-behaved she is. Make her yours now! Apply through www.PugRescueAustin.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Izzy, a Austin Pug/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Chihuahua for sale in Austin, or seeking a Pug/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Chihuahua breeders who help with Pug/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
