Emerson's Story...
Baby Emerson was left on a roadside to fend for himself when he was only 8 weeks old. Thankfully, a good Samaritan took him in and looked for someone who could help, since he could not keep him. We were happy to come to his aid! Emerson is a beautiful black Labrador Retriever with white markings on his chest, feet and the tip of his tail. He's just a baby so he has some growing to do before he'll be ready for a forever home. We have begun his vetting process and in a few weeks he will be neutered and placed on heartworm prevention. He's smart as a whip! He has already figured out the door that leads to where he eats and he's almost 100% on the "sit" command. Funniest little fella to sit and watch can't have a bad day with Emerson in your world!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emerson, a Hartsville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Hartsville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Hartsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hartsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hartsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hartsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
