Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shadow : 6 Year Old Black Male Neutered Lab 90 Pounds
Shadow is a 6 year old, 90lb male black lab who comes to us as his owners were getting divorced and could not take him to their new homes. They asked us to help find Shadow a new home where he will get the love and attention he deserves. Shadow is an AKC registered pup who comes from champion blood lines. He is a very active boy and is learning how to be calm in the house as he had spent much of his time previously outside. Shadow gets along great with his foster's two labs as well as a 16 week old lab mix puppy in the house. He knows basic commands such as, sit, shake, down, stay, wait, and eat. Shadow rides great in the car and loved getting bathed and brushed. He also let his foster mom clean his ears and teeth without any problem. Shadow is learning how to not pull on a leash when he walks is doing well. He sleeps through the night in a crate and loves to play ball but is not obsessive about it. Shadow is very hungry for attention and will follow you wherever you go. He will need a strong leader who can make him feel secure in the home. Shadow grew up with kids, but because he is so big, we would prefer he go to a home with older children where he cannot accidentally knock anyone over. He is unknown with cats. He is a very healthy dog, current on his shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and we currently got him neutered. He is located on Concord.
If you would like to meet this nice boy please call rescue rep Liz at 415-613-6374.
(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
