My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is an affectionate young girl. Her age is estimated to be 18 months. She is a lively little dog weighing 16 lbs and is extremely athletic. Despite the abuse and neglect during her first few months of life, she is a loving girl that craves attention and a warm lap to sit in. Sophie loves to play with other dogs but wants her person all to herself so she could fit into a family that already has a dog or two or three as long as they are no too big or she could be just as happy being an only dog and the light of her person’s life. Her best friend is a senior beagle. He wrestles with her, allows her to lead him around by his ear and snuggle with him when her foster mom is at work. Seeing that Sophie was such a helpful girl, she was assigned a job by her foster mom as a baby sitter to a 6 week old bloodhound puppy. She played, slept and showed her the ropes for 4 weeks until she was adopted. Sophie is crate trained and mostly house trained with only an occasional accident if the door is not open or someone is not home so that she can get outside to potty. Sophie loves to chase squirrels and wrestle with other dogs but her favorite thing is to burrow under the covers and sleep with her person. She will fuss with other dogs over her stuff (chew bones) but is generous and shares with her person. Sophie does not seem to have a preference over the type of person belongs to her but just that they provide her a warm lap, love and a home where she will feel safe and wanted. Sophie is fostered in Birmingham, AL. To schedule a meeting with Sophie, please email info@FORrescue.net
