Bertha's Story...
Bertha is an English Mastiff who is about 6 years old and looking for a place to rest her bones for her final years. She gets along with other dogs and will even get spunky and play with puppies from time to time! She does need to be in a home without cats, or a home that cats can be kept completely separate from her living space. She loves people of all ages from big to small, and especially likes kids! Her favorite thing to do is sleep.

Bertha is up to date on vaccines, has been spayed, had entropion (eyelid) surgery on both eyes so she can see and is currently undergoing slow kill heartworm treatment. If you are looking for an easy going companion she is your girl. Bertha's adoption fee is $125. For more information, or to meet Bertha, please email her foster at aliciaaff@yahoo.com Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bertha, a Houston English Mastiff/Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Mastiff/Mastiff for sale in Houston, or seeking a English Mastiff/Mastiff dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Mastiff/Mastiff breeders who help with English Mastiff/Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
