Poppy's Story...
Ohhh . . . my goodness, hello, how are you? My name is Poppy and I am feeling so much better now that I have a warm place to sleep and plenty to eat, I am 2 years old and I have not had the easiest of lives so far, but I'm very optimistic that my luck will soon change. I am mostly brown tabby with some white and I have already been spayed. I would say my most unique physical characteristic is that I don't have a tail like most cats. Don't worry, I'm not insecure about that, I think it awesome to be different, don't you? I love people and I am very ready for a family of my own. I like my friends here, but they just don't have enough time to cuddle with me. Do you think you have time for a sweet girl who is never too busy for snuggle? Please come see me and help me change my luck.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Murphysboro Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
