My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome little guy is named Bentley. He is a Shih Tzu mix, weighs 10 pounds, and is black and white with just a little red/brownish tint round the left eye. He just celebrated his 4th birthday in June. Bentley is a very sweet boy. His gentle eyes are always at attention looking for guidance and love. Seeing him now, you would never know he came from a puppy mill, although the first couple of weeks in his fosters' home were somewhat challenging due to his fear of everything unfamiliar. He is beginning to trust, which has made it easier to train him on the basics of living in a home rather than a kennel. He listens well and is very bright. Bentley has all the qualities that a family looking to add a four-legged family member would want - love, energy, lap time, snuggles, night-night (sleeps with fosters parents), playing, walks and bye-bye's. He gets along well with his two-year old Shih Tzu foster brother, Max. They run around the fenced in backyard for hours, then rest next to each other cooling down in the shade. Bentley would do best in a calm, quiet adult home, but would also be okay with older respectful children. Since his experience so far with people has been primarily with adults, there would be a significant adjustment period for him in a home with children. He needs a family who will be patient, gentle and loving to help him develop trust and become more comfortable in his new forever home. With time he will continue to blossom into the dog he was meant to be and will be a loving addition to a very lucky family.
Bentley is in good health, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $320.00 plus $23.28 sales tax for a total of $343.28. His foster parents would like Bentley's new forever home to be within 50 miles of the Twin Cities and would like Bentley's new family to bring him to the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion every year in June.
