My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gracie is a tiny 11 pound, nine year old Shih Tzu who is full of spunk. She's a bit of a tomboy who loves to play outside whenever she can. She rides well in the car and loves to look out the window to see what is going by. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys, gets totally engrossed in playing, and makes a funny noise when tossing her toys around. Even though Gracie is small, she can be independent and is content to just be near you rather than being in your lap or being held. She sleeps in her favorite dog bed rather than sleeping with her foster mom. Gracie has dry eye, which is easily treated with inexpensive prescription eye drops, but she will need them once a day for the rest of her life. She calmly allows her foster mom to put the drops in every day. Gracie is healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and housetrained and has lots of zest and life for being a middle aged girl.

The ideal family for Gracie would be a family without children who can spoil her. She's okay with other dogs, but would probably prefer to have all of the attention of a loving retired couple or single owner to herself. Gracie'€™s adoption fee is $150.00 plus sales tax. Her foster mom would like her adoptive home to be within a reasonable driving distance of the Twin Cities and would also encourage them to attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in June each year.

Before contacting Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota regarding any dog, please thoroughly read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to help you understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption.
