Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bernie doesn't make the best of first impressions as he barks at people and is leery but once you walk him and he knows you, he settles in to a relaxed mode. BERNIE NEEDS A FOSTER HOME BY 10/7 or may be shelter bound. He is in the Glendale area. Bernie is a very loyal and affectionate 12-pound corgi/terrier mix. He is approximately 4 years old. His activity level is medium. He likes to go on walks around his neighborhood, but he is perfectly happy with a low-key life around the house. He does not require a lot of outdoor play. His very favorite thing to do is to sit with and be loved by his family. Bernie is quite devoted and wants nothing more than to be near his person. He loves snuggling in his blankets. He bonds instantly to women. He even allows his person to trim his toenails. Bernie is a little shy at first around dominant men, but warms up as soon as someone walks him on a lead. He is neutered, obedience trained, and perfectly house trained. (He has never, ever have an accident in the house) He is alert, intelligent, and will let you know if anyone approaches the front door. The only reason he needs a new home is because his family has 2 indoor cats, and he is not cat-compatible. His family loves him dearly and would miss him very much, but hopes to find him a cat-free home where he can be free to show his love and devotion. He is a wonderful companion. The household is warn out managing this 'safe zone' so really needs to rehome Bernie. He is 12 lbs., walks nicely on a leash and would do best in an experienced dog savvy adult home or one with teenage children. He would probably be fine with a mellow smaller female dog. Adoption process applies. Adoption fee is nominal. You can foster with option to adopt. Bernie is located in Glendale until rehomed. They don't want to take him to the shelter but are exhausted with the dog cat issue they've been battling for 6 months.
