MEET PORTIA. Portia is a rare back and white piebald dachshund with salt and pepper paws. What an adorable,, sweet baby girl! Portia was rescued from a drug house and will be needing some tender loving care. She is 24 weeks old and so has plenty of time to recover from this rough start. She is a little doll, only 7.5 pounds of gratefulness. No cats, please. Here is your chance to make this little one's life very wonderful and special. She will repay ever bit of effort.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
