My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Seville is a good looking orange tabby boy. He was originally surrendered to another shelter and then transferred to us in the summer of 2013. We have absolutely no history on this boy other than the fact that his previous owners claim he is about 18 years old. While his teeth were a disaster and most of them had to be removed everyone who has seen this boy, including our vet, doubts that this is his true age. Not only does Seville not look his age, his health (other than his dental issues) is that of a much younger cat. He has no health issues that we could find, and with his teeth all fixed up he’s ready for a loving forever home. When Seville first came to us he went directly into a foster home because of his assumed age. Unfortunately that did not work out as Seville proved to be a bit of a dominant cat. He had gotten along with the felines at the first shelter amazingly well but that could be because he was in pain from horrible teeth, and once they were all fixed up and he felt better his real personality came out. He’s not a bad cat and he’s not aggressive but he definitely likes to assert his position as the top cat. Because the other cats in the foster home weren’t quite as confident as Seville this proved to be a problem.

Seville is a great boy and loves his humans, but he will need to be an only cat or perhaps in a home with other dominant felines that will not let him bully them around. Seville really enjoys being petted and is very happy to sit on your lap and soak up lots of love. Seville seems to be getting along fine with the cats at the shelter and so far we have had no issues with him, but then again the shelter can be an overwhelming place and Seville probably realizes this is not the place to make enemies. Since arriving at the shelter this tough boy has really lost some of his spark. Even if he’s not 18 years old he’s obviously a senior and a shelter is no place to spend your final years. Seville is patiently waiting for someone to give him another chance and take him home where he can be the apple of their eye.
