Thorton's Story...
Thorton is very gentle, calm and mild mannered pure Great Pyrenees dog that was found wandering in Central North Houston by Cynthia, a good samaritan, who is offering him foster until placement. He enjoys the attention of children also gets along very well with other dogs and cats. He has shown signs of being protective of his family i.e. growling and barking at a stranger coming into his yard. Thorton is house broken being kept indoors to avoid the heat. He is well disciplined and obedient and would make a wonderful family companion!

Thorton is already neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on shots and wormed. We can't determine his age, for sure, but it is probably between 5 and 7 years and would do well in most homes.

If you are interested in giving Thornton a new home, please contact TGPR or complete an adoption form found at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thorton, a Kyle Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Kyle, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Kyle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kyle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kyle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kyle paves the way for another one to be saved.
