Update 10/22/13 Casey is a lovebug. Very cuddly. I have had the 2 Boys now for over 2 weeks, and have decided they can be adopted to separate homes. Toby is very dominant, and tends to bully Casey. I think without Toby, Casey would really blossom. Casey walks beautifully on a leash. He loves to be in someones lap. He is now sleeping on my bed at night, and he never moves! He is just delightful to have around. He has learned the doggie door, and no more accidents in the house. I do have belly bands on the all the boys, as they tend to forget themselves when overexcited. I think this could be removed in time, when he is in a home by himself. He is still a little fearful of me, as he came from an abusive situation, but is getting better and more trusting everyday. He would be a wonderful companion for that special someone. He will give that someone all his love, and he so wants love in return!
Update 10/12/13: Casey went to the vet. He is a healthy boy at 11.6 lbs. He will need a dental. He is a sweet and cuddly boy. He is walking very nicely on a leash. We have had a few accidents in the house, but this is normal, there is a lot of excitement with 5 boys in the home. I am sure things will settle down soon. I am training him to use the doggie door, and this will improve things. He minds well, and sleeps through the night, in a bed next to my bed, with his buddy Toby. Casey depends on Toby, and always looks for Toby. Casey and Toby need to stay together. I am noticing that he is beginning to play with toys, that tells me he is starting to feel more comfortable. He is learning the routine here quickly.
Initial Bio 10/09/13: Casey is a 4 year old Maltese. He was surrendered to UYR along with his pal Toby, due to the passing of their owner. They have been together since they were 8 weeks old. They would like to stay together. Casey is sweet and shy. He loves a nice lap to sit on. More information will be posted soon.
