Mitch *Trained's Story...
"I would like to tell you a little bit about Mitch. He is very gentle and affectionate. He doesn't know a stranger; he can see someone for the first time and his tail starts wagging. I think he would do very good with kids and I think he would make a good therapy dog. He hasn't responded well with his training. He will "sit" pretty good but doesn't seem to want to "stay" or "down". I believe it is because of his hip injury. I will continue to work with him. Mitch is an excellent dog. He does great with other dogs but doesn't like to rough house. He is very easy going and very likeable. I have enjoyed spending time with him." Trainer, Jesse Watson
Mitch is currently enrolled in our New Leash on Life basic obedience training program. All Leash on Life dogs are registered through the AKC Canine Partners Program. This program enables mixed-breeds and purebreds "without papers" to enjoy AKC benefits and compete in AKC events, including agility and rally trials.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mitch *Trained, a Newland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Newland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Newland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newland paves the way for another one to be saved.
